So for the first time ever, I’ll be able to pay my rent solely based on itunes and amazon downloads! Thank you so much to everyone that downloaded my album – I still can’t believe it! So I woke up this morning after a pretty restless night of sleep and weird dreams that some blog was somehow publishing/writing my songs before I could. I probably shouldn’t work on music up until the second I go to bed, but that’s pretty much the only option since i’ve got a day job. There are many great cellists out there, but there are a few who everyone interested in the cello should check out.
To really understand what makes certain cellists great, you need to understand a little bit about the history of the instrument. The cello has been around for centuries, but it was initially considered a minor player in the string family. It was considered more of a rhythmic element, and didn’t get a lot of recognition as a solo instrument. In those days the violin got a lot more of the glory. [click to continue…]
